i see the fire, i see the end - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - divination book open on her lap, eyes glued to the pages, sibyll trelawney was lost in thought. every few minutes, she'd lift her want to turn the page, lips moving ever so slightly as she read the passages under her breath. well, darnit.
she sighed as she reached the end of the chapter, closing the book gently. that explains why my tea leaves have been coming out screwy! with a half-hearted shrug, she fell back on the grass, eyes following the movement of the leaves as the wind rustled the branches of the tree. i predict.. that the little red leaf will fall and land right on my nose. smiling hopefully, she waited a full five minutes before realizing the leaf was far from ready to tumble down from it's branch. alright, maybe the yellow one. crossing her fingers, she squinted her eyes and glared upwards. oh, come. on the count of two.. one.. two! eyes wide, breath catching in her throat, she watched as the leaf wriggled from it's branch and glided down to where she lay, twisting and turning as it fell.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Corny watched her, and smiled. He did not see anyone around at all whom this girl might be speaking to; Stephen assumed she had to be speaking to herself. He recognized her from the common room, and was certain he had a class or two with the girl. However, things around the castle had been hectic for some time now. He filed through his memories and came out with a name; Sybil. The name rang true as he whispered it to himself, and he nodded. He could not figure out why she would be speaking to thin air, but the illusion was almost complete. A small beautiful girl, concentrating on something or another, with a book folded on her lap. Stephen was captivated.
A slow stroll took him up to her, and he cleared his throat lightly so that he would not startle the girl. Through the long strains of dark hair, Stephen looked down to Sybil. "Hello," his voice was soft and steady. "If I might inquire, what are you doing?" His tone was friendly, warm, and his smile matched. He almost lost his breath as he looked into her clear blue eyes. Stephen was indeed captivated.
