Boring.
There was no other word to describe Hogwarts when it was frozen outside. Empty, quiet and utterly boring. Only a few students were already at up and milling about, and Tracey Davis was one of them. It was late morning and she was splayed on her bed, trying to hold onto the last moments of sleep. She had the dormitory all to herself for once and she wasn't going to waste the chance to sleep in without her dormmates waking her up at ungodly hours. She knew several other girls had requested a dormitory change, apparently they considered Tracey's way of awakening them when she snored life-threatening. As if choking someone with your pillow was dangerous.
She kicked the covers off herself and sat up, running a hand through her messy hair. The air was cold in the dungeons, despite the hour. Tracey got up lazily and put on some warmer clothes, slipping into a pair of boots and making her way out of the Common Room and out of the castle. As she walked her mind wandered.
The grounds were deserted and the Black Lake sparkled under the morning light, looking innocuous for once. Tracey reached the shore and looked at the flat, almost unmoving water knowing dangerous creatures swam underneath the surface. She freed her feet from the boots she was wearing and dipped her toes in, it was freezing cold and the sensation woke her.
She backed away a few feet and sat down, laying on her back and lifting her shirt over her stomach, letting the feel of the cold wind her skin relax her. Tomorrow she would think about more important things, tomorrow she would go around school and remind people why they should keep their distance. She closed her eyes and stretched like a cat. Tomorrow was a day away, and for now she just did not care.
