She rubbed softly before she looked up at the professor in front of her. Andy was not a normal sixteen year old. She was mature and well her own. Today she was having a long conversation about what made an unforgivable curse. "Professor I am telling you. It doesn't matter what magic it is. Magic is magic. The way we use it determines if its unforgivable or not. What if the killing curse for used for protection? Would it still be considered unforgivable. Or would it be like killing someone with their own hands in defense." Andromeda was not the girl to think like others. She always had a different look on things. And after six years, her teachers barely began to notice it. Normally she would have pushed it away, but it was what she based her thesis on in her Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Her professor just so happened to give her a low mark thinking she was one of the cooky Slytherins trying to support the Dark Arts. Andy was definately not one of those students. She just thought it was an interesting topic to think about. It took awhile, but the professor finally gave in and changed her marks for the essay. He was lucky Andy even bothered to do it. The girl left the classroom with a triumphant smile and walked down the halls. Her attitude was the pure reason for her being placed in Slytherin. She was nowhere near her sisters' thought process, Andy actually liked muggleborns and muggles. She was just a usually pissed off person. Out in the halls she caught someone staring at her, Andromeda Black hardly ever looked pleasent. "What do you want?" she looked at the younger student, her smile dropping an eyebrow raised. The kid shook her head before running off. "When will anyone ever show any back bone around here?" and she didn't mean stupidety, there were many who already showed that. She climbed down the stairs and into the Great Hall. It was lunch time and arguing with an idiotic professor took up most of her time. She sighed once more and grabbed a couple of sandwiches. She wrapped them in a napkin before heading out once more. She felt like ditching her next class and having lunch over by the whomping willow. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

Herbology fucking sucked. Why couldn't it just go to hell like everything else in this damn world? He snorted, returning from the hospital wing, where he had been roughly shoved out of that soft, comfortable bed onto the hard wood floor. The nurses no longer really wanted him around, and thus Zac was sent away and out of their space. The kid complained and groaned and refused to take his medicine, so why would they let him stay another minute? Zacarie Santiago was definitely everyone's worst nightmare. Once again, he sighed, stumbling down the hallways, bag securely clutched in his hand. He still had that horrible headache from last night, but drinking water and a potion the nurses made him helped quite a bit. Madam Pomfrey was even better back in time than in the present. Younger and cuter, too, if he did say so himself. Still, Zac didn't really want to go anywhere except back to that cozy bed, but the staff insisted he go outside for some fresh and needed air (hopefully making him less aggressive and angry). It didn't really work though, and with a somewhat permenant scowl, he stormed down the corridor, shoving past anyone who dare look, laugh, or even whisper about him. Knocking one kid in the mouth for saying "hi," Zacarie soon found his arch nemesis and somewhatsecretcrush near the feared and revered whomping willow, who enjoyed slapping the stomachs out of stupid students, aka harry potter. Stubbornly, the ravenclaw plopped himself right down, pretending to pay no attention to the slytherin as he began picking at the grass, whistling a little and being his usual annoying self.

Her neck and back was stiff not to mention the rest of her body. She practically forgot what had happened until she woke up to a sleeping Zac. She scruntched her nose. It was not something she too happy rememoring. She quickly took her stuff and left without another word to the nurse. Soon enough she was in front of the whomping willow tearing off a peice of her sandwich and popping it into her mouth. She didn't really care that someone joined her. They probably guessed if they bugged her, she would push them into the tree. She smiled at the thought. Andy wasn't the most innocent person around, she was a Black for goodness sakes. But then the whistling began. At first she didn't pay much attention to it. She just finished half of her sandwich. Andy had some patience, but it didn't take long until it was gone. With looked around for the sorce. Who she saw she was not expecting. Andy really thought they would have kept him in there. But then again it was Zac, he knew how to get himself kicked out of places. The girl's eyes soften, but not her facial expression. She had a half of mind to slap him for giving her the drama. The brunette walked over to him. She took a seat and handed him her other sandwich. It seemed like he just got out. She couldn't help but actually smiile. "Fuck, made me lose seven snickles" The girl went back to her sandwich, "But on a serious note, I'm relieved to see you are alright." Andy didn't look at him, knowing all too well that he was just going to say something nasty | [atrb=width,140] words ,

and yes, zac did know how to get himself kicked out of places. as the most unwanted member of ravenclaw, he had a type of infamous reputation even draco malfoy lacked. of course, zac hadn't always been as grumpy and unhappy as now. the young eleven year old loved learning and studying, reading almost every book known to man. adoring school, everyone claimed zac a pleasure to have in their class, and he received awards for good behavior. however, this only lasted about four years, because after his incident with the substitute teacher, zac became withdrawn and sad, his outgoing nature thrown right out the window. at first, he wasn't as grumpy and pissy, keeping to himself and seeming on edge all the time. however, that changed after his family died about a year ago. being disowned twice by two foster families didn't help either, and so here he was, homeless and alone. it was enough to turn even the sweetest rose into a venus fly trap. his scowl cleared the way as if he were moses parting the red sea, the horrible, spiteful language making teachers faint with shame and surprise. zac hated the world, and the world hated him right back. the boy gave a loud snort to andy, rolling over on his side so the back of his cloak faced her, the blue lining shimmering in the bright sunlight. "yeah, they let me out. more like grabbed me by the hair and kicked me out..." his bitter voice, sharp as thorns, sounded like sandpaper on his tongue, and it was plainly obvious zacarie wasn't 100% better. still, he passed it off as nothing, not wanting pity of any sort.

The guy managed to turn and give her his back. She rolled her eyes. “Didn’t anyone tell you not to give a Slytherin your back, especially a Black?” she raised an eyebrow at him and took her extra sandwich wrapping it up and letting it sit on her lap. The girl mimic his snort. “Zac, you don’t exactly make it easy for people.” The girl shrugged and ate the rest of her sandwich. She chewed for a bit before swallowing, but she didn’t speak. Andy was actually trying to be nice, but something happened to the guy that, it didn’t matter to him. She sighed and brushed the crumbs off of her robes. If he wanted to be nasty, well she could play it that way. The softness left her eyes, “I think you owe me a ‘thank you’.” Andromeda finally said, but with more of an authority than anything else. It was actually true. She was the one who got him to the nurse and stayed all night with him, except she planned on leaving that part out. “I had to save your arse!” she finally looked at him, waiting for the thank you. She pretty much knew she wasn’t getting one, but this whole act, oh she knew it would piss him off “I’m waiting Zac.” The girl continued to look at him, an eyebrow raised, and pierced lips. Oh yeah, she was certainly a Black. All the girls had almost the same expression, and though Andy tried to stay away from it, she just let it out for him. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

zacarie rolled his eyes, curling his knees into his chest somewhat protectively. he didn't give a rat's ass about 'giving your back to a black.' he hadn't met any blacks in his year, so why did it matter? not really answering her, he gave andy a loud snort of displeasure, extending his leg in an attempt to kick some dirt in her face for good measure. and he didn't make it easy for people? sure, why would he want it to be easy for people? rolling over, the boy shot the other a distasteful glare, rolling his eyes and then falling on his back, staring up at the sky. "i don't need to give anyone the time of day," he growled, still watching the clouds float lazily by. "and besides, I was fine. i had asked you not to help me, remember? but then you had to be a bitch and get all saintly on me." it was true zac hadn't exactly asked for assistance, but if andy didn't take him up to the hospital wing, serious complications might have developed. his immune system wasn't very strong anyway, and as a child zac constantly came down with colds and odd diseases. his parents, however, never seemed to care, calling his sickness 'good for the character.' at the mention of a thank you, his annoyance flared like fire, and zac's eyes grew dark with dislike. "keep on waiting. in fact, you'll be waiting your whole damn life." frustrated, he got to his feet and brushed the dirt off, not looking at her. if there was one thing he hated, it was people asking him to give thanks for something he didn't even want.

Did he seriously fail at trying to kick dirt at her. He was being so childish, and Andy couldn’t help but almost giggle. She caught herself though and a look of disgust came onto her face. “You were not fine.” She almost yelled. “Anyone could have seen it! I just the only who would have tried anything because you are so damn irritable and I seem to be the only one with guts to do anything about it!” The girl’s anger came out of nowhere. She was just joking about the thank you. But him actually denying he needed attention, well Andromeda could not believe it. The girl took a few deep breaths trying to ease herself. Her chocolate eyes went to the ground. She brought her knees up to her chest. “I wasn’t being saint like, prick.” She muttered to herself. She actually did care a bit for him. She wasn’t a total bitch like she made herself seem like. That was just because of her sisters, family, and well people judging her from the beginning. The girl ignored his comment. She just took her left over sandwich and placed it on her bag. “I was just kidding.” She didn’t look at him. “I know you better than you think.” The said not caring to telling him. From the constant arguing and getting in each other’s face, as well as the scene he caused, Andy began to notice a thing or two about him. One was, he never said thank you, unless he wanted something. The girl just sat there while he got up and dusted himself off. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

his upper lip twitched dastardly. blue eyes narrowed as his pupils constricted with seething rage. you didn't want zac mad. you eally didn't want zac mad. because when zacarie santiago was mad, he broke through all possible legal and ethical barriers with the intention of pummeling his victim right into the ground. his anger, uncontrollable, spread like a wildfire, scorching everything in it's path. he no longer cared about being expelled, about getting in trouble, or even about her safety. zac wanted revenge. jumping to his feet, he lunged at her, getting right in her face, his own expression stiff and unwelcoming. "you think i don't know how to take care of myself? huh?" spat the seventeen year old, extending his arms in an attempted rough shove. and if she ever called him a prick again, zac would rip her uterus right out through her nose. "you shut the fuck up!" he roared, still charging her. "you don't know anything about me! and i don't need to deal with a useless slut." his frustration melted into pain, but zac kept his expression constant, whirling around and shoving a hand into his pocket in an effort to find a cigarette. he needed something right now, or he might just implode from anger. zac. hated. people. telling. him. who. he. was. because they didn't know. no one knew, and he planned on keeping it that way.

The girl had been known for pushing her bounderies with people. Her friends, family, teachers, no one was safe from her. But this was a bit more that she had expected from. She inhale a bit almost forgetting to let it go. Andy never showed fear, but suddenly he became unpredictable. “I never said that. But something wasn’t right and you were ignoring it!” Andy kept herself together, better than he was capable of. Her eyes searched his. He had went straight up to her, except Andy didn’t move, she just looked right back at him. She let him shove her and she fell back. Her hair went everywhere but her expression didn’t change. It was like being with her family, short fuses and showing no weakness. She just let him say everything on his mind. Except the slut comment stung her. Never had it once effected her, other people’s comments. But he somehow made useless, her father’s favorite adjective for her, and slut, her sister’s and formed them together. Andromeda just glared at him until he was back up and searching for something. The brunette pushed herself up. She twisted a bit to ease her back before looked at him. She clenched her jaw, not for anger, but a bit of sadness, whether it was for him or herself. “I only know your mannerisms, I don’t actually know who you are.” She pushed on. Zac pretty much challenged her, and she accepted the challenge. The girl stood up herself and dusted the dirt and grass off of herself. The girl then went over to him. Again it was not something anyone would think of doing. But what she did next was just random. Andy wrapped her arms around him and basically gave him a hug. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

it had been about a year since zac felt any hugs, any physical affection at all. of course, people grabbed him and hit him, but no one dare hug him, not after paige. he gulped, his throat starting to close in shock. why was she being so nice to him? all zac had been was a jerk, an asshole, a dick. no surprise, of course. but a hug? well, he wouldn't even take a pat on the back from her, much less an embrace. he felt his cheeks flush with embarrassment and slight shame from being deprived of physical affection for so long. "G.... Get off...." But his voice held no authority, for secretly he craved this type of attention. Oh, how he wanted to hug her back, and he had a mind to bury his face in her shoulder and cry. But then where would his reputation be? The Ravenclaw bully who actually had a heart? no, that couldn't be right. he needed a friend. he'd go crazy if he had to live one more minute alone. so, for the first time in a long time, he gave up that foolish desire to be independent and fell against her, clinging to her shoulders as his eyes clenched closed, body shaking a little, almost unable to keep the poison he felt inside. zac didn't say anything, though at this stage, tears might be next.
